In 2019, I started my Orthodox odyssey which lead to my getting baptized in April 2023. There is a lot of miscommunication, in my estimation, between Orthodoxy and Protestantism. Not that we are always saying the same thing from a different angle, but that we genuinely don't understand each other's perspectives. And until this occurs we can't begin to agree, disagree or debate important theological issues. So this will be a site where I'll attempt to charitably describe my experiences going from a Protestant for ~30 years to a layman in the Eastern Orthodox Church. I can not stress enough that I do not write with any type of authority within the Orthodox or Protestant traditions, just about my personal experience and understanding.
